(you do not have to be a facebook user to read these postings) timetable changes there are due to be major timetable changes on the tyne valley line from 20th may 2018. after much campaigning, over many years, we are hoping for a greatly improved service along the line. as soon as the timetable is finalised we will be sharing it with members. it is hoped that this will be in january or february. tvrug agm 6th december 2017 the tvrug agm will be held at 6.20pm on wednesday 6th december at the old booking hall at haltwhistle station. our speakers are fiona forsythe, the tyne valley community rail partnership office who's talk is entitled 'from knickers to drawers: engaging and building partnerships’ and sounds as if it is going to be both entertaining as well as informative! the second speaker is our former chairman malcolm chainey who will share what he knows about what is currently going on in the rail industry. as chairman of tvcrp malcolm attends a number of meetings across the rail industry and responds to a variety of consultations and is well placed to give us an insight into what is actually going on behind the scenes. we look forward to seeing you on the 6th december. tvrug membership from january 2017 tvrug became a group member of tvcrp, the community rail partnership for the tyne valley line. tvcrp has greater funding and a bigger part to play since the new franchise started and whilst arrangements and structures are still being developed, it is hoped that an informative newsletter will soon be forthcoming. tvrug has a new chairman, colin moore from bardon mill. colin is a longstanding tvrug member and last year joined the board of tvcrp, so is well placed to take on the role. current group members of tvrug are being asked to transfer their membership to tvcrp as tvrug will be the organisiation for individual members and tvcrp for groups and organisations. tvrug agm 18th october 2016 the tvrug agm will be held at 7.30pm on tuesday 18th october in the mary clayton room at the stocksfield community centre. the centre is in the road opposite stocksfield railway station and entry to the room is via the side entrance. a review of the year, the latest developments and the future of tvrug will all be discussed, so we do hope you can come along. tvrug agm 20th october 2015 our agm takes place on tuesday 20th october at 7pm at stocksfield institute community association (sica) in stocksfield. the building is just a couple of minutes walk from stocksfield station, just exit through the car park, cross the main a695 road and it is on the right hand side a short way down guessburn road. if you are travelling from the east the train arrives at stocksfield at 1852 and from the west at 1836 (from carlisle) and 1856 (from hexham). we will have a speaker and details will be announced when confirmed. also pete myers, client and stakeholder manager for northern will be attending the meeting and will be happy to answer any mambers' questions. tvrug agm 23rd october 2014 our agm takes place on thursday 23rd october at 7.30pm at hexham community centre. our speaker is michael fleming, who is conductor standards and training manager for transpennine express. he will be talking about 'the role of the guard'. michael says 'many travellers see the role of the guard as simply opening the doors and checking tickets, my aim will be to expand on this and explore the hidden talents of these people who help keep our railways and the public safe.' franchise update june 2014 consultation on the rail franchise for the north is now taking place. click here to view the dft news story. your tvrug committee members are busy digesting the content and we will have more news soon. gilsland update may 2014 cogs - c ampaign to o pen g ilsland s tation are developing a website and social media presence on facebook and twitter. please support the campaign by spreading the word. tvrug update may 2014 members have recently been sent notes from our latest meeting with northern, if you have not received a copy please email our secretary. to join us costs just £5 a year, your voice can then be heard and you can benefit from our campaigning, our network of contacts and from the vast knowledge and experience our members. click the link to pay by paypal or email our secretary for details of a variety of other ways to pay. gilsland update cogs has been formed!
